Machbuster was a project to launch a weather balloon with an electronics payload, track its progress (using sophisticated weather modeling and radio telemetry) and eventually launch a small payload downwards to achieve a trans-sonic velocity.

The launch of the first prototype (with sub-sonic payload) was carried out towards the end of 2010 but the payload was unfortunately never recovered, due to telemetry failure.

The club would like to thank Geospatial Research for their support.
